What Does ‘Discovery’ Mean? Mr. May asked me to think about what discovery means. To me discovery means to find or learn something new. I love to discover new books and learn new things. I also like discovering new things in art. Discovery also means to see or read something new. My picture is about me finding something new, like a cool piece of a picture. I think discovery is awesome.

Crusie Arcade Game - Research Paper: Tilt-a-World Identify the Problem How can we, as Caine has inspired, demonstrate through teamwork our imagination, determination, and passion for creativity and innovation, with our own arcade constructions? Explore What Makes an Effective Professional Arcade Game? The game that I played that makes an effective professional arcade game was Nibblet. The game is supported by Camadro, Inc. You play by using arrow keys to guide the worm through the maze. Press ENTER to toggle music on and off. As you eat the balls, the snake’s tail gets bigger. The object of the game is to move the worm by pressing the arrow keys. The rules of the game are displayed on the bottom of the screen. The level of difficulty is 2 in a 1-4 rating. You win the game by eating all of the balls. If you win you go to the next level.
You would need string, marbles, a maze, fake snake, and a big box to build Nibblet. The game would cost $1,000 to buy and $100 to build.

Have you checked the marble falls through all holes. Polish: Label the holes and prizes. Student Comment: Thank you! We spent a lot of time on TILT-A-WORLD. We enjoyed your comments. Well, instead of them tilting we encourage the players to pick it up so the marble does not flip off of the platform. If someone does flip it off of the platform they will just go to the start again. We also noticed that only the adults have gotten the ball off of the platform. We already labeled the holes and prizes. It went a lot faster when others came in. We did it in sharpie. It looks a lot better now. I wish you could see it. Examiner: Ms. Andrews Date: 3/20/13 Praise: I loved this game! What a creative idea. I enjoyed playing it and it was not too easy, but no too hard. The decorations were eye-catching. You spent a lot of time and effort. Well done! Question: Where did you come up with the idea? How can you be more clear about prize levels? Polish: I wonder if you should color coordinate the holes with the prize levels. Student Comment: Thank you. We spent a lot of time on Tilt-a-World. We tried to make it colorful by putting duct tape on it. Well, Mr. May wanted us to brain storm game ideas and we both thought of Tilt-a-World, so we started building. After we thought of the game idea we wanted to wrap the game with duct tape to make it more attractive. We also color coated the holes. Examiner: Kelly Spilman Date: 2/13/13 Praise: very creative! I like all the colors and patterns. The game was fun and challenging. Question: How did you come up with the design idea?
Polish: it would be faster if you don’t give so many choices for prizes. Student Comment: Thank you we worked very hard on our game. We put the duct tape on to the game to mess with the players’ minds and make it more difficult. We wanted to put our names on the side of the game but it turned out that only the first letter fit on the game. Well, Mr. May wanted us to brainstorm game ideas and we both thought of Tilt-a-World, so we started building. After we thought of the game idea we wanted to wrap the game with duct tape to make it more attractive. We also wanted to put the first letter of our name on the side of TILT-A-WORLD. It would be faster if we didn’t give so many choices, but if they just picked it out of the game holes they might break the game or they might not be satisfied with our game or the prize that they want.

"Tilt-a-World" Make It Better How Can We Make the Crusie Arcade Game Better?
Reflection on Project
What can we do to improve our Arcade Creation?
We can improve Tilt-a-World by making it out of wood.
Specifically, how would we do this?
We would do this by using wood, glue, (MB) duct tape, springs, and a marble and glue them together.
Reflection on Process
What did you learn to do with the Crusie Arcade Project?
I learned that if you are taping springs on cardboard, GOOD LUCK!
What do you know now that you didn’t know before doing the Project?
Now I know how to build a game.
What can you do know that you couldn’t before doing this project?
I couldn’t duct tape as well; now I know how to duct tape better.
What did you like about the project that helped your learning?
I liked working with my partner and making a COOL game.
What could have been done differently to help your learning?
Mr. May could have given us more to type about. Final Reflection: We can improve Tilt-a-World by making it out of wood. We would do this by using wood, glue, duct tape, springs, and a marble. We would glue the wood and springs together. I learned that if you are taping springs on cardboard, GOOD LUCK, because if you try to duct tape the springs on cardboard they will fall out! Now I know how to build a game because I did not really know how to build one before. I could not duct tape as well; now, I know how to duct tape better. I liked working with my partner and making a COOL game. Mr. May did not really need to do anything more to help our learning..
